Settings

Your logo, company and auditor names, report wording, date format and photo options.

The Settings tab controls how your reports look and how Snag List handles photos and dates. Settings apply to every project.

Good to know: if you clear a text setting so it's blank, Snag List keeps the previous value. To change a setting, type the new text over it.

General

  • Save photos to camera roll (off by default): also saves photos you take in Snag List to your Photos library.
  • Date format: Auto (follows your iPhone or iPad), UK or USA. This sets how dates appear in reports and PDF file names.
  • Use completion dates (off): when you mark an issue complete, Snag List asks for the date it was fixed, and the report prints "Completed on" with that date.
  • Image crop to square (on): shows photos as squares in the app and in reports. Turn it off to show whole photos.

Reports

  • Timestamp PDF images (on): adds a timestamp to each photo in the report.
  • PDF image quality: from 72 to 300 dpi, starting at 150. Higher means sharper photos but a bigger PDF. Lower it if your reports are too large to email.

Paper size, theme, photo and text sizes are chosen for each report in Theme Options.

Company settings

These appear on the cover page of every report.

  • Logo: tap to choose your company logo from your Photos library. Remove takes it off.
  • Name: your company name.
  • Auditor: the name of the person carrying out the audit. Filling in Audited By when you sign off a project also updates this.

Identifiers

Change the words Snag List uses in your reports to match your industry. For example, you could call issues "Snags", "Defects" or "Observations".

  • Single: what one item is called (starts as "Issue"). It's also used to name new issues, such as "Issue 3".
  • Plural: more than one ("Issues").
  • PDF specifier: the word on the cover before the count, as in "Identified 12 Issues".
  • Prepared for: the words before the client's name on the cover.
  • Assigned to: the label before each issue's assignee.

Issues

  • Set Issue Image Immediately (on): opens the camera as soon as you add an issue. Turn it off to fill in the details first and add photos later.
