Troubleshooting and contact

Fixes for the common snags, and how to get in touch.

Most questions about Clock Card come down to a setting on the job. Here are the ones we see, with the fix, and how to reach us if yours is not here.

Pay shows a dash

The job has no hourly rate. Tap Set an hourly rate to see pay on the Clock tab, or open the job under Jobs and fill in Hourly rate. Hours are tracked either way.

The total differs from my payslip

Work through these in order:

  1. The period. Check the job's Pay period and its start day match your employer's. A week starting Sunday and one starting Monday put the same shifts in different totals.
  2. The rate. Open Rate history in the job editor. If a raise was entered from the wrong date, remove that entry and add the rate again with the right date.
  3. Breaks. Open a shift and check each break's Paid break switch. A paid lunch counted as unpaid is the usual half hour missing.
  4. Overtime. Compare the job's rules with your contract. Remember the highest multiplier wins per minute and weekly rules follow Week starts on in Settings.

If it still differs, email us the CSV export of the period and the payslip figure and we will work it through with you. Pay and rates sets out the arithmetic.

I was not reminded

Reminders are notifications, so the phone must allow them: on iPhone, Settings › Notifications › Clock Card; on Android, Settings › Apps › Clock Card › Notifications. Low Power Mode and some Android battery settings can delay them. The clock-in reminder fires only on the weekdays ticked in Remind me to clock in, and the "still clocked in" nudge only after the hours chosen under Still clocked in?.

"Another timer is already running"

A shift for another job is still open. Clock it out from the Clock tab (switch to that job from the name at the top), or open it from the timesheet and set its end time, then clock in.

"Overlaps another shift"

The start and end you entered cross another shift of the same job. Usually one of the two has a wrong time: go back and check both. If both are right, for example a correction you will tidy later, Save anyway keeps it and both are counted.

I cannot sign in

  • A new account must be confirmed first: open the email we sent and tap its link, then sign in. Check the spam folder for a message from Boluga.
  • The password is case-sensitive. Signing in on a new phone needs the same email you created the account with.
  • Backup needs a connection; everything else works without one.

My hours are gone

Hours are kept on the phone, so they survive updates and restarts. If the app was removed and reinstalled, or this is a new phone, sign in on the account screen and the backup comes down. If you never created an account, a CSV you exported earlier is the copy to work from; we cannot recover hours that were only on a phone.

Contact us

Email apps@boluga.com with what you did, what you expected and what happened. The app version is at the bottom of Settings; for a pay question, name the pay period and attach its CSV export. We answer within two working days. The support page has the short answers to the common questions.
